Ridgely’s Record

April Community Meeting

Please join us for a community meeting on Wednesday, April 3, at 7:00 pm on the second floor of Pickles Pub.

This is your chance to ask questions and get to know Councilwoman Porter before she officially represents Ridgely’s Delight in December. Following redistricting by Mayor Scott last fall, Ridgely's Delight will transition from District 11 to District 10, overseen by Ms Porter.

If you are unable to attend the meeting in person, you can join us online. Login details and the agenda will be posted on the community website.

Joint Community Happy Hour

Gather with your fellow residents on Friday, April 5th, for an evening of socializing and making new connections. This exciting event brings together five nearby neighborhoods for a fun-filled happy hour at Flock (1415 Washington Blvd.) starting at 6:00 pm.

It’s a perfect opportunity to catch up with old friends, meet new neighbors from surrounding areas, and foster a broader sense of community spirit. So, grab your friends and head to Flock for an enjoyable evening.

Community Dumpster and Park Cleanup

The city is dropping off a community dumpster on Conway Street on Saturday, April 13th, from around 9:00 am until 11:00 am. Stop by to get rid of unwanted household items (think old furniture, not construction debris).

Let’s use this opportunity to show some love to Conway Park. Meet us there at 9:00 am to team up and tackle those downed dead branches and litter.

Just a friendly reminder: Please keep commercial waste, appliances (like microwaves and air conditioners), and building materials out of the dumpster. Following these guidelines ensures that we can continue to receive these convenient dumpsters from the city.

The Big Baltimore Kit Festival

Get ready to fill the skies with color and celebrate the magic of kites at the Big Baltimore Kite Fest. Mark your calendars for Sunday, April 6th, and head to beautiful Patterson Park.

Whether you're a seasoned kite flyer or a curious beginner, this festival has something for everyone:

  • Bring your own kite: Show off your flying skills and let your creativity take flight!
  • Craft your own masterpiece: Participate in the onsite Friendly Flyer art-making for a suggested donation of $5.
  • Don’t have a kite? No worries! Kites will be available for purchase at the information tents.

The hub of the festival is around the Patterson Park Observatory but you are encouraged to spread out around the park! Festival runs from noon to 4 pm.

The Baltimore Farmers’ Market Reopens

The Baltimore Farmers’ Market is back for the season starting on Sunday, April 7. Located underneath the Jones Falls Expressway (JFX I-83) at 400 E. Saratoga Street, the market takes place rain or shine every Sunday, from 7 am to 12 pm, through December.

Come out and support your local farmers and vendors, and find fresh produce, meats, cheeses, baked goods, and more. There’s something for everyone.

Thinking of Sprucing Up Your Home this Spring?

Because it’s a historic area with a special CHAP designation, any exterior renovations in Ridgely’s Delight might also need approval from the Commission for Historical and Architectural Preservation (CHAP). Following their guidelines helps maintain the neighborhood's unique character. Not sure what you need? Don't worry, we've got you covered. Check the community’s website for details.
