National Night Out!
The Ridgely’s Delight National Night Out is an annual event taking place this year on Tuesday, August 4, from 6–9 pm, in Conway Park.
National Night Out encourages people to get outside to meet their neighbors and interact with police and firefighters. The event is meant to strengthen neighborhood spirit and build partnerships in an informal setting.
Bring the roommates, the kids, or just yourself and enjoy an evening of socializing. Fire trucks are always a big hit with the kids. The Ridgely’s Delight Association will be providing hot dogs, burgers and veggie burger options, and we ask neighbors to bring a side dish or dessert to share. BYOB. It’s always a good time.
Dogs are ok, but must be kept on a leash. If your furry friend has a people or food obsession, it might be best to leave them home. If you have questions, please email sharon@reuter.net. Check the Facebook event page for last-minute details.
Inner Harbor pickleball court
If you haven’t seen it yet, there is a pop-up pickleball court at the Inner Harbor amphitheater. It is open for play on a first-come, first-served basis from sunrise to sunset, except during “free” scheduled Coached Pickleball Programs. Don’t have your own gear? Equipment is available for rental at the kiosk located next to the court.
Latin American food festival
Las Chamas de Baltimore, the neighborhood food truck, has partnered with Pigtown Main Street to bring you ¡Domingo de Fiesta!
Get ready for a day packed with incredible flavors, community spirit, and family fun with a purpose. On Sunday, August 16, West Barre Street (at Washington Blvd.) will transform into a vibrant street festival celebrating the rich flavors of Baltimore’s Latin community alongside a few Pigtown favorites.
When: Sunday, August 16 from 12:00 pm – 8:00 pm
Where: W. Barre St. & Washington Blvd. in Pigtown
A portion of all event proceeds will support Venezuelan earthquake relief efforts.
Planning some work on your home?
Because we’re in a historic district with a special Commission for Historical and Architectural Preservation (CHAP) designation, any exterior renovations in Ridgely’s Delight will need approval from CHAP. Outer Rim Science Fiction Film Festival
Watch award-winning independent science fiction films, meet the filmmakers behind them, and spend a weekend with fellow fans exploring the future of storytelling. Happening on August 28–30, this is an independent film festival dedicated to original, world-class sci-fi, fantasy, and speculative cinema from filmmakers around the globe. https://theouterrimfest.com/
Street sweeping
Don’t forget to move your car on street sweeping days to allow DPW’s equipment to clean your entire block. This month, the scheduled dates will be:
