Ridgely’s Record

Community meeting

This month’s Ridgely’s Delight Association (RDA) meeting will be held at Pickles Pub on Wednesday, June 3, starting at 7 pm. Our guest speaker that night will be our State Delegate, Robbyn Lewis.

Ridgely’s happy hour

Start June off with your neighbors on Friday, the 6th, at Pickett Brewing (1130 South Paca St.). We’ll begin gathering at 5:30 pm. Whether you’re a 20-year resident or you just moved in last week, come out for a drink and some great conversation. Everyone is always welcome!

RDA Mural Project

The RDA is gathering opinions for a new mural facing MLK Jr Blvd and Washington Blvd. This design of the mural will be led by local neighborhood artist Josh Burggraf. Community members can contribute to this project by sharing their ideas and perspectives through the RDA Mural Project Survey. To access the survey, scan the QR code with your cell phone camera or go to bit.ly/RDAMuralProject.

Please be on the lookout for updates in the Ridgely’s Record and across RDA social media accounts about the mural and the sale of neighborhood merchandise.

Feisty Females of Fell’s Point

Join Baltimore Heritage on June 27 for a walking tour of Fell’s Point. Everyone knows that this neighborhood has a rich history, but do you know about the Caribbean immigrant, Mary Lange, who dared to teach children of color and rose to be the first Black mother-superior in American history? How about the single mom who helped stop the development of an interstate highway through these historic streets? Plus, stop by the former rowhouse of someone else you might know—Billie Holiday.

Planning some work on your home?

Because we’re in a historic district with a special Commission for Historical and Architectural Preservation (CHAP) designation, any exterior renovations in Ridgely’s Delight will need approval from CHAP. Following their guidelines helps maintain the neighborhood’s unique character. Not sure what you need? Check the community’s website for details.

Waterfront Week

Waterfront Partnership is kicking off the summer with a 10-day series of events (June 5—14), bringing all the best arts, entertainment, recreation, and community events to Baltimore’s harbor. Check out free live music in Baltimore’s waterfront parks, try out a free yoga class, or take a guided paddle of the Inner Harbor.

Fest Of Spring

Head over to historic Carroll Park on Saturday, June 13, for the Fest of Spring: Wine, Food & Music Festival! This vibrant southwest Baltimore community gathering transforms the park into a massive celebration packed with live musical performances, a diverse lineup of local food trucks, and refreshing wine tastings. It’s a fantastic, family-friendly day out. The event raises funds in partnership with local autism awareness initiatives.

Mortified: Pride Edition

Also on June 6th at 7:00 pm, The Creative Alliance in Highlandtown presents a special edition of Mortified, a comedic storytelling event where everyday adults read their most embarrassing diary entries, poems, and love letters on stage. This June installment focuses on LGBTQ+ adolescent archives, coming-out stories, and teenage angst.

Street sweeping

Parking enforcement appears to have stepped up ticketing in our neighborhood on street sweeping days. Mark these dates on your calendar so that you’re not caught off guard.

  • Odd sides of the street — June 17
  • Even sides of the street — June 24
