Ridgely’s Record
Community meeting
Join us for the March Ridgely’s Delight Association (RDA) meeting. Our next Ridgely’s Delight Association meeting is happening on Wednesday, March 4, at 7 pm. This meeting will be online only. You can find the Zoom link and agenda on the community's website.
March neighborhood happy hour
Kick off the month with your neighbors on Friday, March 6, at Quigley’s Half-Irish Pub. We’ll be gathering starting at 5:30 pm. Whether you’re a 20-year resident or you just moved in last week, come out for a drink and some great conversation. It’s the perfect, low-key way to catch up on neighborhood news and make new friends. See you at 633 Portland Street!
Community dumpster
The city will be dropping off a community dumpster on Conway Street on Saturday, March 14, from approximately 9:00 to 11:00 am. Stop by to dispose of unwanted household items and help clean up some of the debris that accumulates on our streets.
As always, please keep commercial waste, appliances (like microwaves and air conditioners), and building materials out of the dumpster. Following these guidelines ensures we can continue to receive community dumpsters from the city.
Ridgely’s Opening Day picnic in the park
Kick off the baseball season with your neighbors on Thursday, March 26. We’re gathering in Conway Park between 10 am and 1 pm to celebrate the Birds’ return. The RDA will be firing up the grill with hot dogs, burgers, and sausages, plus chips and drinks while they last.
Moving a little slow that morning? We’ll have coffee and donuts ready for the early birds. We’ll have the cornhole boards out, so come ready to play!
Orioles home opener

A new Orioles season begins on Thursday, March 26, with a 3 pm game against the Minnesota Twins. This is always an exciting day in our neighborhood. Please note that there will be street closures for some fun special events, and our ‘stadium event’ parking restrictions will be in effect throughout our neighborhood.
Streets closed on that day will include:
- Portland Street, between Greene St. and Emory St. for a FREE block party.
- Emory Street, between Dover St. and Portland (in front of the Babe Ruth Museum) for a ticketed event.
- Washington Blvd., the 500 block (in front of Pickles and Section 771) for everyone.
Parked cars will be towed from those blocks. Watch for posted signs the day before.
Tour of Prerequisite Trades Academy
A new resource is coming to our corner of Baltimore! This June, the Prerequisite Trades Academy will open at 1552 Ridgely Street, offering hands-on training in high-demand fields like plumbing, HVAC, and carpentry.
The Ridgely’s Delight Association has partnered with the Citizens of Pigtown to host a community tour on Friday, March 20, at 6:30 pm. Everyone is welcome. It’s a great chance to see the facility before it officially opens. Afterward, we’ll head across the street to Checkerspot Brewing to grab a pint and catch up with our Pigtown neighbors. We hope to see you there!
Street sweeping
Don’t forget to move your car on street sweeping days. This month, the scheduled dates will be:
- Odd sides of the street — March 18
- Even sides of the street — March 25
