Annual pumpkin smash
The ultimate, satisfying send-off for your Halloween jack-o’-lantern! On Sunday, November 2, The Maryland Science Center staff uses a custom launch tube to propel pumpkins off the roof of the building, letting them smash onto the patio below. All smashed pumpkins are then composted. It’s science, destruction, and recycling all wrapped up in a spectacular, crowd-pleasing drop.
You can bring your own pumpkin (must be rollable and under 14 inches in diameter) to participate in the carnage! This event is FREE and runs from 10:00 am 12:00 pm. More information
