April 2025 Board Meeting

Discussion About Conflict of Interest and Competing Neighborhood Organization
Gerry Salley stated that the other organization was not a competing organization. They had a lawyer review the situation and that was his opinion. Gerry invited Nicole to meet with other group and the lawyer.
Nicole asked why the group had registered with the City? This makes it a competing organization.
Feedback was that RDA has not followed through on requests and that they have been acting on their own.
Other RDA has been holding monthly meetings with Phylicia Porters office, per Phylicia Porter.
Paul Rubenson stated that it’s a conflict when there is a second group that represents the same geographic area, and it forces the City to make a choice about who will represent the area.
Nicole Dungee stated that there is an appeal process. Founder/leaders can choose to leave the other organization. Or not participate on the RDA as a board member or committee member. One cannot do both.
Deb O’Neill stated that the other association has no board, no structure, no title. She was asked why the association was registered with the City – Deb stated that she registered the group to make it more formal, and more structure was needed to set up outreach. She stated that we don’t want people representing us that don’t live here (the North side of neighborhood).
