First Friday Happy Hour
This month we'll be at Harbor Way Inn on Pratt St. (1 block east of MLK) on November 4th, starting around 6:30pm. Come by any time, bring friends!

Ridgely's Holiday Party, Save the Date!
The annual Ridgely's holiday party will be on Friday, December 2nd, upstairs at Sliders Pub. It will be a pot luck dinner with cash bar. To insure a variety of food items (although is there really such a thing as too much Jell-O?) contact Allison at 410.625.0809 or allison@ethics.org to sign up to bring a dish. The holiday party will be in lieu of the Dec. community meeting and the first Friday happy hour (although this will be plenty happy -- more so even!). Jingle all the way!

Ras Doobie de Chef Even: Great Food, Great Cause
Ras Doobie de Chef's, on Penn Street, will be hosting Youth Advocacy Day on Saturday, Nov. 19th, noon to 8pm. There is a full day of events on tap, so stop by the café for a schedule. Proceeds for this event will benefit the Uhuru Sasal School in Hanover, Jamaica and Kids Against Violence here in
Baltimore.

Welcome Maggie to the Neighborhood
Maggie Moore's Irish Pub and Restaurant is now open. Located opposite the Hippodrome at 21 N. Eutaw Street, it resides in a renovated 1847 bank building with amazing original features. You can eat or drink in two of the large main rooms with 20-foot ceilings, in the old bank manger's office, or
even in the bank vault. This beautiful renovation is complemented by an outstanding menu of Irish favorites. It's open 7 days a week. Call 410-837-2100 or visit www.maggiemoores.com.

Peace and Coffee Unite in Ridgely's
A new coffee shop has opened in the 'hood, at 713 W. Pratt. Peace & a Cup of Joe is now open 7 days a week, M-F 7am-6pm and Sat.-Sun 8-3. Stop in for coffee, espresso drinks, smoothies and sandwiches, salads and sweets - and maybe even inner peace.

Thanksgiving Parade and Santa's Big Entrance
Santa Clause is coming to town, and he arrives amid a flurry of fun, music and excitement in the annual Downtown Thanksgiving Parade, on Sat. Nov. 19th, beginning at 11am. The parade begins at Eutaw and Pratt, travels along Pratt and ends at Market Place.

Gearing up for the Holidays
With Santa's long-awaited arrival come many exciting holiday traditions. There's Santa's village at the Inner Harbor, which opens Sat. Nov. 19th, where you can get your picture with Santa. The lighting of the Washington Monument is on Thurs. Dec. 1st, 5-6:30pm with food and entertainment on
hand. And accompanying this event is Wassail at the Walters museum from 5-7pm. Stop in for free cookies, wassail (warm cider) and tours. Downtown Dollar-Or-Less-Days are Dec. 3-4th, and many downtown attractions are $1 or less. Visit GoDowntownBaltimore.com or call 410.244.1030 for a list of
attractions. And last but not least, Sat. Dec. 3rd at 6pm is the annual Parade of Lighted Boats along the waterfront through Fells Point and the Inner Harbor.

Artistically Inclined? Crafting Nights Begin Again
All knitters, needle-pointers, papier-macheers...whatever your interest, crafting night has resumed, or is it really just an excuse for a social gathering? You be the judge. Meetings are Wed. evenings, beginning around 7:30pm, location rotates. Call Shannon at 443.858.6544 for a schedule of
locations. Beginners welcome.

Tips for a Dog-friendly Neighborhood
In addition to picking up your dog's poop (ALWAYS) there are other tricks to help all of us get along famously. When a new dog joins the group, a lot of sniffing takes place as well as more subtle forms of introduction. Dogs signal status through actions, such as raising a forepaw, looking away, and
licking or nudging muzzles. One action to note is a threatening pose used to chase another dog away. Look for ears erect and titled forward, eyes staring, lips curled, teeth bared, or tail stiff or raised. For more information visit www.napcc.aspca.org. Things to keep in mind while visiting the dog park.

Renovating? Check with CHAP
If you are planning on making renovations or additions, please call Paul at 410-234-1350. Remember, all exterior changes require CHAP approval. To view the guidelines, visit: www.ridgelysdelight.org/history/chap.html.
