two ways. (1) Go to the Dept of Parking at 200 W. Lombard and renew your
Area 5 parking permit. Bring proof of residency, check or credit card

newsletter. For more information call 443-573-2800.
First Friday Happy Hour
This month were getting a little creative as the locals will have their
hands full with O's fans. It's a chance to try out some place new (to
some), so we'll be at Patrick's Irish Pub, on Pratt Street across from
the B&O Rail Museum on May 6th. Don't miss a fun time and live Irish
music!

the summer. Keep an eye on the newsletter for announcements as they both
will pick up in the fall.
Renovating? Additional Access to CHAP Info

now available on-line. They are based on the existing city-wide CHAP guidelines,
but are tailored to the specific architecture in Ridgely's. If you are
planning on making renovations or additions, please call Paul at 410-234-1350.
Remember, all exterior changes require CHAP approval. To view the guidelines,

Tips for recycling
Cans and bottles are collected on the 2nd and 4th Monday of each month
EXCEPT ON HOLIDAYS and all materials go in blue plastic bags, supplied
by many area grocery stores. Paper is collected on the 2nd and 4th Friday
and goes in paper bags, cardboard boxes, or tied securely with string.

A Neighborhood Book Signing
Don't miss the opportunity to meet Johnny Slaughter, long-time Ridgely's
resident, memoirist and author of the new book, Brother In The Bush, An
African American's Search for Self in East Africa. Johnny will be signing
books at the Pooch, Thurs. May 5th from 5-8pm. Books will be available
for purchase, but if you can't wait just go to www.brotherinthebush.com.
On the Move?
Just a reminder for those moving in and out. Please properly dispose of
your belongings. Don't just pile it up on the sidewalk; this could result
in fines for the landlord and loss of security deposits. Call 311 for
bulk trash pick-up. May 3rd and June 7th are the next two scheduled bulk
trash days, but you must call at least one week in advance. If you prefer,
take a trip to the dump, a fun and educational experience!
Preakness Celebration 2005
Saturday May 21st is this year's running of the Preakness Stakes. The
race will be run at 6:09, but other races throughout the day are worth
an early arrival. For tickets and information visit www.marylandracing.com
or call 410.542.9400.
Wear the Neighborhood Name on Your Sweatshirt
You don't have to be the president of the Ridgely's Delight Association
to get the neighborhood's name on your sweatshirt, t-shirt or knickers.
You can also get a Ridgely'sDelight totebag or clothes for your dog. When
you order through ridgelysdelight.org, part of the proceeds will go to
the community association. The money will help pay for the neighborhoood's
