Ridgely’s Record

Ridgely’s Delight Association (RDA) March community meeting

There will be an online community meeting on Wednesday, March 2, at 7pm.

The meeting will include a presentation on the new Lexington Market. For 238 years, the market has been a staple of Baltimore life and a hub for small businesses and food access. A whole new building, with an exciting new mix of vendors, will open this spring. Join to learn more and to ask questions.

Anyone who lives, works, or owns property in Ridgely’s Delight is welcome. Use this zoom link to join: https://tinyurl.com/marchrda

Neighborhood happy hour

They’re back! The first Ridgely’s neighborhood happy hour of 2022 will be held on Friday, March 4th. Join us, starting @ 5:30pm, upstairs at Friends Grille (737 Carroll St.—right behind the Dollar General).

March recycling pickups

DPW has reduced our recycling pickups to every other week. This change is intended to bring predictability to recycling collections, as COVID-related staffing shortages have resulted in delays and cancelations in recent weeks. This month, our pickups will be on Friday, March 11th and  on Friday the 25th.

Recycling piling up? On the weeks that we do not have collections, there will be a drop off site available, Tuesday through Saturday, from 8am to 2pm at Digital Harbor High School, 1100 Covington Street (Parking lot next to the school, accessible via Covington Street).

Interested in growing your own vegtables?

Pigtown Community Garden is hosting their spring Open House for 2022 (1425 W. Ostend St.). The garden will be open to the community, including those interested in joining them for the 2022 season. They operate in a co-operative fashion where paying members receive produce by regularly participating in the maintenance and upkeep.

They will have some food and drink, as well as information about the garden (11 years in Pigtown!), upcoming projects and plans for the coming year.

Did you get a parking ticket in error?

As we trudge through the virtual parking permit pilot, a few neighbors have gotten erroneous tickets. If you have been given a ticket and it has been a mistake because you have all of your credentials, please email parking@ridgelysdelight.org. A community volunteer will try to help.

Help to deliver the Ridgely’s Record

The community board has discussed a return to printing and delivering this newsletter to every house in the neighborhood. We can’t do it without your help. We are looking for volunteers who are willing to distribute it once a month on a neighborhood block or two. It's a great way to add more steps to your routine.  Contact editor@ridgelysdelight.org. Thank you!
